In March 2011, the Diocesan Council of the Diocese of Georgia approved a diocesan policy on the protection of children and youth from abuse. This document will be reviewed and revised yearly, and the next revision cycle is slated for fall 2012 and will include the addition of guidelines for forms of electronic communication.
These policies are meant to be guidelines for churches and Episcopal organizations in the Diocese of Georgia. Individual churches may adopt their own policies using the diocesan policies as a guide.
