Did you know that The Episcopal Church sends a delegation of Young Adults to United Nations Commission on the Status of Women?
Probably not.
You could actually be a part of that delegation in 2012, which means you could really have a chance to make a difference in the world!
The 56th Commission on the Status of Women (CSW56) will take place Monday, February 27, 2012 to Friday, March 9, 2012 at the United Nations Headquarters in New York City.
This year, the principal theme will be the empowerment of rural women and their role in poverty and hunger eradication, development and current challenges. Therefore, young adults from rural dioceses in The Episcopal Church (that’s us!) are especially encouraged to attend.
This will be the fourth year The Episcopal Church has taken a group of young adult men and women to the UN Commission on the Status of Women for a week of community, theological exploration, exposure to the UN, incredible access to experts from across the globe, and an opportunity to learn more about the Episcopal Church’s commitment to International Women’s Rights and Gender Justice.
The deadline to apply is November 1, 2011. Click this link to learn more or to apply: https://www.signup4.net/Public/ap.aspx?EID=UNCS10E
